Not many magazines for teenage girls out today have cover lines like “Make Colleges Wants You Bad” or “One Girl Against the Patriarchy.” Sigh.

Hey, it’s re-governor Jerry Brown, in the June 1992 issue of Sassy Magazine, in a piece entitled “Would you raise your daughter to be a feminist?”
His answer:
“Our prosperity - and even our survival - depends on recognizing that the role of women has dramatically changed. Upward mobility, flex time, child care, family assistance, comparable worth are all part of my agenda to ensure that women fulfill their potential.”
